Diwali Celebrations at the Gurdwara

Guru Pyaree sadsangat ji

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh!!!

Diwali is a festival of lights that reminds us of the victory of good over evil. It is a time to do some introspection and pump up our inner self and enlighten it to the good it is destined to do. Sikhs all across the globe celebrate the occasion to mark the victorious homecoming of sahib Sri Guru Hargobind sahib from Gwalior after successfully securing the release of 52 kings who had been imprisoned by Jehangir. The sikh sangat at Amritsar marked the return by lighting diyas and henceforth the diwali of Amritsar has become known all over the world for its pomp and fervor. The day assumed importance subsequently as all important religio-political decisions of the sikhs were considered on this day at Akal Takht sahib through a sarbat khalsa by issuing a "Gurmata". This is traced back to Guru Hargobind sahib and Bhai Mani Singh subsequently.

The sangat is kindly requested to mark their calendars for friday 9th november, 2007.
